Cesca + Dan’s Wedding at Grangefields

Don’t fancy reading a whole blog post? No worries! Scroll down for the photos and highlights film from Cesca and Dan’s Grangefields Wedding.

Cesca and Dan met working in the police. Maybe it’s not the conventional way to find a life partner, but together they bonded as they drove through the streets of Derbyshire, catching bad guys and saving the day. Fast forward a few years and they’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first baby, and planning their wedding at the beautiful Grangefields venue in Ashbourne.

Grangefields is an awesome place to get married. If you’re partial to a converted barn in the countryside, as I happen to be, this wedding’s worth looking at for some inspo. As it’s run by Cripps and Co, one of the best regarded wedding operators in England right now, you know your day will run smoothly. The team is super professional and friendly, so it’s thumbs up all round for Cripps and Grangefields. Cesca got ready at an Air BnB cottage nearby, with her parents, bridesmaids and niece, then popped down to the venue in her mini where Dan nervously waited.

The ceremony took place in a converted barn, which has windows down one side meaning the natural light in the room is nothing short of stunning. After a quick confetti throw we did a few couples photos and group shots, but the majority of the photos are relaxed, unobtrusive and totally authentic. This is how I love to work, and the venue definitely lends itself to this style. It was easy to nip between the tables during speeches to get natural photos and bits of film for their highlights reel. A personal favourite part of the day for me was when Cesca’s mum asked me to get some photos of her mum and sisters together. They were so cheeky and full of love.

The evening was all about dancing, the pizzas came out and I drifted back home to Chester filled with fuzzy feelings about how lucky I am to have such a great job. If you’re getting married at Grangfields and looking for a photographer, get in touch. I’d love to go back!
