And this is Luca

And this is the third time I’ve photographed their family!

The first time I popped round top their home was for Rupert’s newborn photoshoot in 2019. Rupert was so tiny, and when I arrived at their home he was laying in his cot while super attentive big bro Luca read him a book. It was one of the most adorable family shoots I’ve ever done! I photographed the boys again in Sherwood Forest last summer, and seeing them again was just lovely.

August 2020

We actually had this shoot scheduled for Rupert’s first birthday, which would have been the end of 2020. We all know what happened there! Needless to say, I was round at their house at the first opportunity, which ended up being April 2021. In a way it was nice to have that longer gap between the second and third shoots, because the boys had changed a bit more. When we met in August, Rupert was cruising and laughing, but now he is running around like no-one’s business and getting into all kinds of mischief! Plus with all the events of the past year, capturing these ordinary family moments was seems so important.

Mum Suzanne has discussed this with me a couple of times, that her goal has always been to get plenty of photos of her boys growing up, spending time together as a family, so that one day they can look back at their family photos and have a real sense of who they are, who the people in their lives are and were, and where they’ve come from.

We spent a couple of hours together in the glorious sunshine. A waterfight might have broken out. Grandma might have been soaked a little bit. It was brilliant!

These are the moments that mean the most to me. The ‘us’ time when we’re all together, doing not very much at all.
